Car interior cleaning
Car interior cleaning is often neglected or we don't know how to clean car interiors. This often leads to stains and foul smell. The most damaged portions due to neglect are upholstery, carpets, leather, rubber parts and vents. Lets have a look at some of the easy ways of cleaning your car interiors.
Car interior cleaning: Cleaning the leather interiors in a car:
It is common believe that water will damage your leather. Actually, leather are tanned in water. With careful hands you could wash leather potions of your car interior with water. If the leather is soiled heavily, then clean it with an upholstery brush. Clean the soap with a damp cloth when finished followed by a clean dry cloth to dry the area. Do one section at a time.
After you cleaned it properly, its time to condition them. Use a good leather conditioner to do the job. Apply it on leather with a foam and work throughly. Leave the conditioner for few minutes so that leather soaks the moisture, then remove the excess of it with a clean dry cloth. The residue will evaporate on its own.
Cleaning the floor mats and carpets:
The floor mats can get wet due to leaks at top and could be the cause of bad odour in the car. A good airing is required in the afternoons for all type of cars. A sprinkle of baking soda in the car interior helps in removing bad odour. To clean the floor mats, use your household vaccum cleaner. Vaccum cleaner can only clean the dirt from the surface but there are lot of dirts which is embedded inside these mats. Beat your mats against a wall or gate and you could see a bunch of dirt. Keep on beating it till there is no dirt left. Hose down the rubber mats and clean it thoroughly. Dry everything before putting them back in car.
Removing stains from car interiors:
Use a detergent with pH equal to 7 i.e neutral detergents. The detergent with pH more then 7 is alkaline and less then 7 is acidic. Both types of detergents are not good for the meterials car interior is made of. If detergents does not helps then use:
1. Ivory liquid and water
2. Mild ammonia and water
3. White vinegar and water
4. Cleaning fluids like Carbona, Renuzit, Perk etc
If the stains on leather or fiber then there is no way you could remove it. In that case go for a replacement of the damaged part.
