They are less resistant to environmental impact and less resistant to car washes. The major things that affects it most are rain, dust, and polluted air. if you are using detergents then these wax gives least resistance for the affect on car paints.
Due to the low cost of the traditional waxes, more and more people use them. What they don't know is that this waxes are not capable of handling the job for which they are used. So is silicones best car wax? I would say no. Silicones penetrate the painted surface and is quite long lasting.

When new paint is applied, air bubbles appear on the surface. Due to this silicones are not that preferred wax and we could not call it a best car wax.
These waxes could for sure be called as best car wax as it lasts for 1-2 years. It penetrates the pores of the paint same as above but with a unique type of resin called as plasticizer. This forms a type of closed gate and prevents entry of any other element.
These are generally a polish with acrylic elements 3-4 times costly then regular wax but worth the price. Once applied these wax forms a barrier and is anti static, gloss enhancer, transperent, hard durable and forms a very tough protective layer for your paints.
