Basic steps you should remember while washing a car.
Most importantly, Wash your cars only in shades
First, hose your car thoroughly. It removes the easy dust and makes the tough patches like bird dropping moist which helps in later cleaning.
While hosing, spray inside wheels and under the car to remove the debris and salts properly with water force.
Use a lot of warm water after hosing and spray it over your car. It moistens the tough patches further and cleaning becomes simpler.
Sheepskin mitt or a soft cotton cloth is best to be used while washing a car. Avoid using sponge as it could cause scratch on paints due to dust within which is soaked while cleaning.
Use a good car wash shampoo or soap and avoid using dish washing liquid, which could harm your paint.
Start cleaning your car from top to down, one panel at a time. Hose the section after every panel wash.
Remember also to wash inside the bumper
Use mild dish detergent with water to wash moldings
Wax your car when you are done washing and water starts sheeting.
Always use a paste wax and avoid using liquid wax.
If you find any scratches, treat it with manufacturer's touch-up paint. Apply Petroleum jelly to the scratches to prevent it from rust.
Be aware when weather changes. Approaching warm weather could cause rust under the car due to deposition of salt in the cold weather.
